Why is it okay to talk about sex and not masturbation?

A lot of people will talk about weird funny places they've had sex, but when the subject of weird funny places of where you've masturbated comes up people are suddenly uncomfortable... it isn't for me but why is it for other people??? I mean it's still sex.
